State Bar Membership Information

Attorney Evan E. Zelig has been involved in the practice of criminal law exclusively since the beginning of his legal career. He graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a degree in Political Science and continued with his legal education at McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. While in law school Mr. Zelig was recognized for his achievements in advocating on behalf of clients in a courtroom setting and during this time also began an internship with the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office.

Immediately after law school and becoming a licensed attorney Mr. Zelig continued his legal work as a Deputy District Attorney in Sacramento where he represented the People of the State of California through all phases of criminal prosecution. During this time Mr. Zelig gained valuable trial experience and saw how decisions at the District Attorney's Office were made regarding the cases being prosecuted.

After Mr. Zelig left the District Attorney's Office in Sacramento he began his career as a criminal defense attorney in Sacramento where he represented criminal defendants in both State and Federal Courts. Following his defense work in Sacramento Mr. Zelig moved to Los Angeles to begin work at a nationwide criminal defense law firm. While working at that law firm, much of Mr. Zelig's practice was focused on representing clients throughout the United States charged with very serious felony offenses including attempted murder, rape, kidnapping, robbery and assault. Mr. Zelig represented clients throughout all stages of their criminal cases and appeared in court on their behalf in California, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Nevada, Oklahoma, Florida, New Jersey and New York.

Following his work at the nationwide criminal defense law firm Mr. Zelig decided to no longer travel the Country representing criminal defendants and accepted a job as an Associate Attorney for a sole practitioner in Encino, California. While working at the law office Mr. Zelig gained extremely valuable experience in a very busy criminal defense practice representing clients charged with both State and Federal criminal offenses ranging from minor misdemeanor offenses such as DUI and petty theft to the most serious offenses such as murder, kidnapping and robbery. Mr. Zelig also represented many clients with "Three Strikes" cases as well as gang and weapons allegations and enhancements prior to his leaving the office to open his own law firm.

Mr. Zelig left Los Angeles for Northern California, where he gained his legal education, and established the Law Office of Evan E. Zelig in Santa Rosa, California. The Law Office of Evan E. Zelig is located in the heart of Sonoma County, just minutes from the Hall of Justice (Courthouse) and the Jail Detention Facilities.
